Milatos Cave is also a wonderful natural site, with breathtaking stalagmites and stalactites.
Lassithi beaches are some of the finest in Crete. Apart from the exquisite Palm Tree Beach in Vai, which is the most popular of all Lassithi beaches, we recommend visiting as many as possible. Near Vai, you will also come across the lovely beaches of Zakros, Itanos and Palekastro, while on the southern coast of the prefecture, Agia Fotia, Myrtos, Makrygialos, Ierapetra, and Xerokambos are considered the best. The northern coast of Lassithi is lined with amazing beaches, including Elounda, Milatos, Sissi, Plaka, Ammoudara, Almyros, Pachia Ammos, Havania, Istro, Sitia, and Diros. The islets of Koufonissi, Chryssi and Spinalonga also have marvellous beaches, which you can reach by excursion boat.
